stylebio Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Lisa Levine discovered her talent for invention and decoration at a very young age, draping herself in the baubles and bijoux found in her grandmother's art deco style jewelry box. She went on to study her chosen craft at Parsons School of Design in New York City. After a year she felt a need for foreign inspiration, moving to Mexico and making jewelry in San Miguel de Allende. From the rich indigenous cultures she gleaned an appreciation for the integration of unusual organic materials into her otherwise starkly modern creations. She returned to the United States where she completed her training in fine arts at the California College of Arts and Crafts. Lisa is back in New York with her new collection that combines elements such as quills and feathers with classic modern design.
